From Shelter to Spain | Alma’s Journey

Part of Paws Around the World — our global pet photography series celebrating dogs and the humans who love them.

Meet Alma — a 4.5-year-old Eastern European Village Dog, adopted from Dogs Trust in London. After bouncing between countries, Alma now calls Spain her forever home. Her calm spirit and soulful eyes tell a story of resilience, love, and the power of second chances.

This series is more than cute dog portraits — it fuels our deeper mission: to raise awareness and funds for Cusco Canine Rescue, a U.S. 501(c)(3) nonprofit working to build a sanctuary for abandoned dogs in Peru. Every photo session, every video, every like helps make this dream a reality.

Paws Around the World is a heart-driven photography project by Arf & Wag, capturing the special bond between dogs and their humans in cities across the globe. While each short video celebrates the joy, quirks, and spirit of beloved pets, the deeper mission goes beyond the lens. Every session supports Cusco Canine Rescue, our nonprofit initiative dedicated to helping street dogs in Peru.

All proceeds from our videos, merch, and memberships go toward Cusco Canine Rescue, a U.S. 501(c)(3) nonprofit and legally established rescue in Peru. We’re raising funds to build a no-kill sanctuary in Cusco—offering medical care, safety, and love to pups who need it most. Learn more on our website.
